Edit existing data file

3 min Medium

After you have successfully imported the data files into vMAP, besides visualising the imported data on mapview directly, you can also configure the data fields and edit the data values, thus changing the mapview.

This can help you always keep the data and also the visualised mapview updated in vMAP easily.

How do I locate and choose existing imported files?

To locate existing files, follow the below steps:

Step 1. In the File button drop-down menu on the vMAP main page, click on Importdata item to open the Import data window.

importdata10

Step 2. Click on the Existing file button to open the File Explorer window. Then select an existing data file to load it.

Step 3. After selecting the data file, click the Execute button. The selected file will be loaded for importing.

How do I filter the imported data?

Please check out Filter values for the imported file to view the detailed steps.

How do I configure the mapping field?

In the mapping field table, the fields of the imported file will be mapped to the fields of the target layer. Generally, vMAP maps these data fields automatically, but you can also map them manually.

Please check out Set mapping parameters for layer for the configuration details.

How do I configure the Point and polygon mapping field?

After completing the Field mapping, then you need to set the point and polygon mapping information for mapping point and/or polygon data correctly on mapview. (See the red box in the screenshot below)

Please check out Set mapping parameters for point and/or polygon to view the detailed steps for configuration process.
